Plot twist, I'm Amberly! Polly is my dog. I'm so glad you're here and that I have the opportunity to share my story with you. Named after my dog herself, Polly, each piece is picked based on quality and affordability. Through prayer, hard work, and patience (we're talking four years), Along Came Polly came to life.
Why Polly? I almost didn't think you would ask! My pets bring me so much joy - so much that I named my business after one. Honestly, we're big lovers of animals around here. With every purchase, a donation is made to a nonprofit working to save the lives of animals in need. Donations are made every quarter to nonprofits that promote animal welfare and advocate for positive change.
Why the color purple? It's a question I get asked often. My Mamaw, who was a significant part of my life, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's and dementia. The color purple is a nod to her and a way to keep her memory alive in everything I do. It's my way of honoring her and the strength she showed every day.
Having spent nearly a decade in corporate retail and later stepping away, I knew somehow, someway, someday I would find myself back in retail. I knew at a young age that I wanted to be my own boss; I just didn't know how or where that journey would lead me. As a way to spend more time with my husband and focus on what brings me joy, I finally did the dang thing. Fast forward to today, and here we are!
